Nimbus Conservation has worked extensively in the City of London and whilst I was
a partner in the firm I had the opportunity to work on two of the great monuments
in the Guildhall William Beckford and Pitt the younger both pictured left. It was
a great pleasure working with Vivian Knight the curator who is a wonderful enthusiast
and encourager who helped me immensely. Sally Strachey and Geoffrey Preston also
worked on Nelson and Pitt the Elder. We had to evolve some unusual and interesting
strategies to get the work done because the building was in frequent use for important
functions much of the time.
Later on my own account I was invited by Richard Gilbert Scott to make proposals
for for statues to be placed in the ambulatory of the new Art Gallery he was building.
Pictures right show Dick Whittingtion and Charity.
